British Caribbean actress Aisha, is very in touch with her roots. Mum is from Trinidad and Dad is from Barbados. She visits whenever she can and feel as much home there as in the UK.
From a childhood attending stage school, Aisha took a degree at Roehampton, before polishing her acting skills at DSL (The Drama Studio), from where she graduated in 2009.
With classical training at its heart, DSL allowed Aisha to play such roles as Lady Macbeth, Elvira in "Blithe Spirit", and Harper in "Angels in America". Her graduation role was Ivy in the under-rated wartime play "We Happy Few".
Aisha's first job out of drama school was a tour for the Midlands based Stopwatch Theatre Company, in an ensemble theatre-in-education project on arson.
Comedy is a big part of this upbeat actress's life. She would love to eventually have a role in a good British sitcom, and as she adores everything Disney, and has strong voiceover skills, could see herself as a cartoon voice one day. She has started 2010 at Disneyland in France, as a character host, a job she absolutely adores.
Along with her mother, Aisha has always had a strong interest in Black culture and through events they have run, linked with Black History Month, she has been lucky enough to meet and build relationships with people like George Harris and "Eastenders"' Nitin Ganatra.
Aisha's role model is British born Thandie Newton, for her work on and off screen, and she also loves Johnny Depp for his versatility. His looks have nothing to do with it!
This young actress is going places. One of them will be a TV screen near you, very soon.
