There is something about the name Hugh, that gives a man a certain presence. It has done well for Hugh Grant, and our Hugh hopes he will tread in Mr Grant's floppy haired, bumbling but loveable Englishman footsteps.
Trained at the Welsh College, Hugh has a fondness for and affinty with, Wales, and hopes to work in Cardiff one day soon. Perhaps a role in "Doctor Who?"
Roles at drama school included Vatelin in "An Absolute Turkey", Fred in "The Rover", and Adam in "As you Like it". In out of London regional venues, Hugh has appeared at Cardiff's Sherman Theatre in "The Laramie Project" and at Bristol Old Vic in a very dark production of "Tis Pity she's a Whore".
London credits include Alan in "No Going Back" at The Tabard, and Guy in "Murder on the Tarot Cards" at The Kenneth More in Ilford.Christmas 2007 saw Hugh playing Belinda in "Cinderella" on tour in the South of England. Now firmly back in men's clothes, Hugh says he is glad his panto experience is "Behind him......" Geddit?
Hugh spent the late months of 2008 working for the Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone, on their project, "Streetwise".
He begins rehearsals for his next project in September. |
