There are some actors who only play one character for their entire career, no matter which play they are in, and others, of whom Stacie is one, who are totally different in every character. Every actor should be versatile, but it is easy to get stuck into one type. Stacie is successfully managing not to get stuck so far.
Born and brought up in Dorset, Stacie moved to London to train in classical theatre. Favourite roles included Phoebe in "As you Like it" and Olivia in "Twelfth Night". She would love to do more Shakespeare, but it is in screen roles where she is being cast these days.
Stacie became almost a household face a couple of years ago, when cast as Katie the Ditsy Blonde in the successful Thresher's adverts. She lost count of how many times she had to be soaked in "Chardonnay" on the day and how many people called it out in the street for months afterwards.!
Other promo credits include for "The F Word" and Challenge TV.
On stage, Stacie has been a prostitute, Cockle Kate, in "The Lost Quay" and a spooked Governess in "The Turn of the Screw", and even a pantomime dame!!
Deciding to start a family in 2009, Stacie planned to take a year out, but whilst pregnant said to us "Please get me a job where I can be a pregnant character. We did manage it: as a pregnant lesbian in a short film!
Now "resting", if you can call it that, with a baby daughter, Stacie is keen to get back to work later in 2010. In the meantime, if baby can come too, any casting directors good with nappies?
